A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS
AGENCY TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR ADJUSTING
SIGNAL TIMING ON CITY STREETS DURING FREEWAY
CONSTRUCTION AND/OR CLOSURES.
WHEREAS, the State of California, through its Department
of Transportation (Caltrans), has presented an Agreement for
reimbursing the City for costs of adjusting signal timing during
freeway construction and/or closures.
WHEREAS, the City shall provide staff upon request from
Caltrans and, subject to availability, to adjust signal timing and
control traffic in the City as necessary to mitigate the effect of
detour traffic on local streets caused by the reconstruction of the
freeways, and Caltrans shall reimburse the City for all labor costs
for such services.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of
the city of Santa Ana authorizes the Executive Director of the
Public Works Agency to execute in the name of the City of Santa Ana
all necessary contracts and agreements to implement and carry out
the purposes specified in this resolution.
