A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA SETTING FORTH THE
PROPOSALS TO AMEND THE CHARTER TO BE
INCLUDED ON THE BALLOT FOR THE 1992
GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, this Council, by its Resolution No. 92-065, dated
July 6, 1992, requested the Board of Supervisors of Orange County
to consolidate a general municipal election of the City of Santa
Ana with the statewide general election to be held on November 3,
1992; and
WHEREAS, this Council desires that certain proposals to amend
the charter of the city of Santa Ana be included on the ballot
prepared for the voters of the City of Santa Ana in such
consolidated election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That section 1 of Resolution No. 92-065 of the City
Council of the City of Santa Ana is amended by adding the following
language thereto:
The proposals to amend the charter of the City of Santa Ana
shall appear on the ballot as follows:
Shall the Charter be amended to prohibit
the mayor or any councilmember from
participating in any matter where the
mayor or councilmember has received $250
or more in campaign contributions in the
preceding 12 months from any person
having a financial interest in such
matter?

NO
Shall the Charter be amended to prohibit
board and commission members from serving
as treasurer to a political campaign
committee?
YES

Shall the Charter be amended to limit
campaign contributions to City election YES
campaign committees to $1000 per source
during each election cycle and to limit
mayoral and city council oandidates to
one campaign committee and one bank NO
account for city elections?
2. The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to file a
certified copy of this resolution with the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange and a certified copy of~this resolution with
the Registrar of Voters of the County of Orange.
