A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD
CERTAIN CLASSIFICATIONS TO THE CITY'S BASIC
CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO
PROVIDE RECOMMENDED PAY INCREASES TO ALL
UNAFFILIATED PART-TIME CLASSIFICATIONS FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1992-93.
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City
of Santa Aha requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain
a position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules
and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted
Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic
Classification and Compensation Plan for officers and Employees of the
City of Santa Aha; and,
WHEREAS, on July 20, 1992, the City Council adopted the newly
negotiated Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Santa Ana
and the Service Employees International Union, Local 1939,
AFL-CIO, CLC, Part-time Employees' Representation Unit effective
May 1, 1992, through June 30, 1993, and provided for a three-and-one-
half-percent (3.5%) base wage increase effective June 26, 1992; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of such new agreement, the number of
classifications included in the Part-time Employees' Unit represented
by SEIU Local 1939 has been reduced, thereby leaving the remaining
Unaffiliated Part-time classifications without the salary increase
provided to Represented Part-time classes; and,
WHEREAS, Part-time classifications represented by SEIU Local 1939
and included in previous Memorandums of Understanding have not been
included in Resolution No. 82-110, the City's Basic Classification and
Compensation Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to include both Represented
and Unaffiliated Part-time titles in the City's Basic Classification
and Compensation Plan, and desires to provide a general three-and-one-
half percent (3.5%) increase in the base wages assigned to classes of
part-time employment not affiliated with any representational unit,
effective June 26, 1992:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA:
1. That Section 3.5 of Resolution No. 82-110, Part-time and
Temporary Rates, as amended, be renumbered and further amended to read
as follows:
"Section 3.5.1 CLASS TITLES AND WAGE RATES FOR SEASONAL AND OTHER
UNAFFIT.?ATED CATEGORIES OF PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT. Part-time workers
employed under the following class titles shall receive wages based on
the hourly pay rates as set forth below, effective June 26, 1992:

2. That Section 3.5 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, be
further amended by adding a new section numbered "3.5.2," to read
as follows:
"Section 3.5.2 CLASS TITLES AND WAGE RATES FOR LONG-TERM
REPRESENTED CATEGORIES OF PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT. Part-time workers
employed under the following class titles shall receive wages based

3. That, except as amended by this Resolution, all other
provisions of Resolution No. 82-110 shall remain in full force and
effect.
