RESOLUTION NO. 93-063
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO%rNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING MEMBERSHIP IN THE
ORANGE COUNTY VEHICLE THEFT TASK FORCE.
WHEREAS, the problems surrounding automobile theft and car
jacking are increasing in California; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors adopted
Resolution No. 93-54, pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section
9250.14 to establish an Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force and
funding to impact the increasing incidence of auto theft; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has pledged its support to work
with the County of Orange, District Attorney's office, Sheriff's
Department, eight other cities and various State and Federal
Agencies to help to address this problem.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
having reviewed the Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force Progress
Report and FY 1993-94 Proposed Task Force Budget, does by this
resolution hereby:
Authorize the Santa Ana Police Department to
participate as a member in the Orange County
Vehicle Theft Task Force membership and to
represent this city in respect to the Task
Force activities; and
Authorize that applicable City reimbursement
will be made in accordance and compliance with
County of Orange accepted accounting
procedures, and as referenced in the Orange
County Vehicle Theft Task Force Progress
Report.
