A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING INTEREST IN
PARTICIPATING IN A COUNTYWIDE PREEMPTION
SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation authority has
requested the City of Santa Ana support a Countywide traffic signal
preemption system; and
WHEREAS, assuming a Countywide traffic signal preemption
system is developed to serve fire emergency vehicles; and
WHEREAS,
jurisdictions; and
this system will be compatible between
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is willing to participate
in a Countywide traffic signal preemption system program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Santa Ana
supports the concept of a Countywide traffic signal preemption
system for fire emergency vehicles only.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city requests the Orange
County Transportation Authority explore use of funds including
Measure M for traffic signal preemption systems.
