A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE
COUNTY OF ORANGE SHERIFF-CORONER TO
APPLY FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE LIVE SCAN
TERMINAL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana City Council desires to undertake a certain project
designated Live Scan Terminal Project to be funded in part from funds made
available through the Anti-DrugAbuse Act of 1988 for the Federal Anti-Drug Abuse
enforcement Program administered by the office of Criminal Justice Planning
(hereafter referred to as OCJP).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Sheriff-Coroner of Orange County is
authorized, on behalf of the City of Santa Aha to submit a proposal to OCJP and
is authorized to execute on behalf of the City Council of Santa Aha a Grant Award
Agreement including any extensions of the term of the Agreement up to 24 months
or necessary modifications to the grant budget that do not exceed the total
budgeted amount of $27,708.36 or alter the nature of the project.
IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance of this
Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the
responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of
California and OCJP disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be
used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body and that grant funds
received hereunder by the County of Orange on behalf of the City of Santa Ana
shall be forwarded to the Director of Finance for the City of Santa Aha and
placed in the Criminal Activity Fund for the Live Scan Terminal Project.
IT IS ALSO AGREED that this award is not subject to local hiring freezes.
