RESOLUTION NO. 95-002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD ONE PART-TIME
TITLE TO THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND
COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL
BUDGET TO ALLOCATE ONE PART-TIME POSITION AT NO
ADDITIONAL COST.
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the
City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install
and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to
civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the City
council; and
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and
adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the
Basic Compensation Plan for all officers and employees of the
City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, on July 5, 1994, the City Council passed and
adopted Ordinance No. NS-2225, which establishes the City's
budget, authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1994-
1995, and which sets forth the requirement that alterations in
the allocations of authorized positions be reviewed and approved
by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) has
determined that street lighting responsibilities, which were
previously performed under contract, conform to the duties of a
part-time employee, requiring the addition of a classification
title to the titles of classifications of part-time employment,
retroactive to October 1, 1994;
WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110
and the Fiscal Year 1994-95 Budget in order to effect these
changes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. That Section 3.5.2 (CLASS TITLES AND WAGE RATES FOR LONG-
TERM REPRESENTED CATEGORIES OF PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT) of
Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended by
adding the following class title at the salary rate ranges shown:

2. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1994-95, as amended,
be further amended by allocating one part time Street Lighting
Engineer position, at no additional cost.
3. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other
provisions of Resolution No. 82-110 and the Annual Budget for
Fiscal Year 1994-95 shall remain in full force and effect.
4. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after
October 1, 1994, as required by the Public Employees' Retirement
System (PERS).
