RESOLUTION NO. 95- 067
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING THE LAND USE
ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN TO PROVIDE
GUIDELINES FOR THE EVALUATION OF CONDO-
MINIUM CONVERSION PROPOSALS (GPA 95-5)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, after duly noticed public
hearing on September 25, 1995, has approved an amendment to the
Land Use Element of the General Plan to add guidelines for the
evaluation of condominium conversion proposals, as hereinafter set
forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after duly noticed public hearing,
concurs in the Planning Commission's approval of said General Plan
amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA that the Land Use Element of the General Plan of the
city of Santa Ana is hereby amended by adding the following
objective, policies and program pertaining to the conversion of
existing apartments to condominiums:
CONDOMINIUM CONVERSIONS
Objective:
Ensure that condominium conversion projects provide a
quality residential housing project.
Policies:
Protect neighborhoods from the potential blighting
effects of deteriorating or undercapitalized condominium
conversion projects.
Require mitigation of the hardship caused by the dis-
placement of tenants in the conversion of apartments to
residential condominiums.
Implementation Program:
Develop an ordinance that identifies development require-
ments and criteria by which to evaluate condominium
conversion proposals.
