APPEAL - TAXI DRIVEr'S LICENSE A hearing was opeDed on an appeal
filed by James Steven~ 2526 Elden
Avenue, Costa Mesa, from the refusal
of a taxi driver's license by the Police Department because of a dm~rDten driving
charge in 1958 in the midwest° There being no response to the Mayor's call for
testimony, the hearing was closed. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by
Councilman Schlueter and carried, Council granted the appeal and authorized
issuance of a taxi driver's license by the Police Department°

DISPOSAL CONTRACT AMENDMENT

amendment to the agreement with Santa
Aha Commercial Co. relative to garbage
disposal, and left the Council Chamber. On motion of Councilman Hubbard,

of an amendment to the agreement with the Santa Ann Commercial Company to
reduce garbage collection in residential areas from twice to once a week,
upon certification that all users of the garbage disposal service have been

man Hubbard and Councilm-u Schlueter as a committee to review the qualifica-
tions of the candidates and submit a recommendation to the Council, and received

On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded
by Councilman Schlueter and carried.
Council adopted a M/nute Order declaring
its intention to enter into an agreement
with the Santa Ana Unified School District wherein the City would transfer
title to approximately six acres of property owned by the City and in return
would receive approximately four acres owned by the School District and the
difference in size of parcels to be paid to the City at the price for which
the property was originally sold to the City.
REIMBURSEMENT FOR
EXCESS PAVING
On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded
by Councilman Schlueter and carried,
Council received and approved a revised
report from the Public Works Director,
dated January 24, 1963, recommending
increase from $3,943 46 to $4,954.13 for cost reimbursement for excess paving
on Msmory Lane and Westwood Street in connection with Preliminary Map No. 249
and Variance No. 1627
There being no further business, on
motion of Councilman Gilmore, seconded
by Councilman Schlueter and carried,
the meeting was adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
