RESOLUTION NO. 96-032
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA TO REVISE THE CITY'S
CURBSIDE REFUSE COLLECTION RATE EFFEC-
TIVE JULY 1, 1996
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana maintains a refuse collection enterprise to
provide for curbside refuse collection to residents of the City of Santa Ana and
has adopted a refuse collection rate to provide these services; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City Council that the City of Santa Ana's
refuse collection enterprise be self-supporting and supported by charges made to
the customers receiving refuse collection services; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has imposed laws requiring each city to
reduce the amount of refuse disposed of in the landfills and to implement a
recycling program; and
WHEREAS, the curbside refuse rate is comprised of several components,
including gates fees, collection and recycling and administrative fees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AS FOLLOWS:
1. On July 1, 1996, the refuse rate payable by senior citizens and mobile home
curbside customers, who qualify as low refuse generators under City regulations,
shall be $12.27 per month.
2. On July 1, 1996, the refuse rate payable by all other curbside customers
shall be $14.02 per month.
3. Except as modified by this resolution, City Council Resolution 94-047
remains in effect.
