RESOLUTION NO. 96- 039
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE CERTAIN RETIREMENT
INCENTIVES TO FACILITATE ACHIEVEMENT OF LONG TERM BUDGET
GOALS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
that the City Manager is hereby authorized, under special
circumstances, to provide incentives for voluntary early retirement
in order to achieve long term budget goals. This authorization may
only be excercised as follows:

The total cost of all incentives shall not exceed $10,000
per employee;
The City Manager, in his or her sole discretion,
determines it is in the best interest of the City to
extend the incentives as an inducement for retirement.
The City Manager is further authorized to establish procedures for
the implementation of this resolution.
