RESOLUTION NO. 1999-054
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING
THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR GRANT FUNDING
FOR THE DELHI PARK IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Govemor of the State of California have
approved a grant for the Delhi Park Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the grant project and setting up necessary
procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and
Recreation require the Applicant to certify by resolution the approval of application(s)
before submission of said application(s) to the state; and
WHEREAS, said application(s) contain assurances that the Applicant must
comply with, although there is no matching funds requirement from the City; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of
California for the Delhi Park Improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana:
1. Approves the filing and submittal of an application for grant funding in the
amount of $788,000.00 for the Delhi Park Improvements; and
2. Certifies that sufficient funds exist to operate and maintain such project; and
3. Appoints the City Manager, or his designee, as agent for the City of Santa Ana to
conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to
applications, agreements, amendments and payment requests which may be necessary for
the completion of the aforementioned project.
