HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-001 - Amend Resolution No. 82-110RESOLUTION NO. 2 o o o -o 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES IN THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO REALLOCATE ONE POSITION. WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil service roles and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for all officers and employees of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, on June 21, 1999, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. NS-2387, which establishes the City's Annual Budget authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1999-2000, and which sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council; and WHEREAS, periodic review of the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan and the findings fi.om recent classification and compensation studies reveal the need to effect certain changes to the Plan, and to reallocate one position; and WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110, and the Fiscal Year 1999-2000 Annual Budget, in order to effect these changes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended by: a. adding, in alphabetical sequence, the following classification title at the monthly salary rate range/effective dates indicated: Class Title 6-Sten Salary Rate Range (AA-E~, effective: 1-1-2000 7-1-2000 No. (Min-Max) No. Public Works Dispatcher 501 ($2402-3067) * *Salary Rate Range to be determined per Article IV, Section 3.C of Memorandum of Understanding between City of Santa Ana and SEIU for Fiscal Years 1998-99 through 2000-01. Resolution No. 2 0 0 0 - 0 1 Page 2 of 3 b. changing the existing classification title of Building Inspector/Combination (6 Step Salary Rate Range No. 578, minimum $3501, maximum $4470 per month) to Combination Dwelling Inspector, at no change in salary rate. c. changing the existing classification title of Executive Secretary (UC) (6 Step Salary Rate Range No. 572, minimum $3398, maximum $4339 per month) to Executive Assistant, at no change in salary rate, and retaining the designation of Unaffiliated Confidential by assigning the parenthetical identifier "(UC)" after this class title. 2. That except as amended by this Resolution, all other provisions of Resolution No. 82-110, and the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1999-2000, shall remain in full force and effect. 4.
