RESOLUTION NO. 2000-029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT AND TO
PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS AS REQUIRED BY THE
OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Police Department has received $137,000.00 in grant
funding from the Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program;
WHEREAS, such funding will allow the Police Department to provide additional
personnel for victim assistance as well as a victim notification system which will allow
victims access to information regarding inmate release and status;
WHEREAS, the Office of Cdminal Justice Planning requires that the City of Santa
Ana provide twenty-five percent (25%) of matching funds to qualify for the grant.
WHEREAS, this Council after duly noticed public hearing, has determined that
acceptance of the grant is in the best interests of the City of Santa Ana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
Approves the execution of a grant award agreement for the Domestic
Violence Victim Advocacy Program grant by the Chief of Police, including
any extensions or amendments thereof; and
2. Provides ail matching funds necessary for grant eligibility.
ADOPTED this 1sT day of May, 2000.
