A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE
OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and
declares as follows:

The Police Department has been awarded a One Hundred and Five
Thousand Dollar ($105,000) Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program
Grant from the Office of Criminal Justice Planning and the required
matching funds of Thirty-two Thousand ($32,000) from the Police
Department Patrol Reserve Appropriation account.
The grant award will provide for the implementation of an additional
domestic violence investigator and a full-time victim advocate.
The grant award will also provide for a victim notification system that will
allow the victims of domestic violence to call the jail and receive information
on inmate release and status.
Do
The grant designates the notification system to be located in the Santa Ana
Police Jail Facility.
The grant will provide for training of law enforcement personnel in domestic
violence and provides resources for a Police Department apprehension
team for domestic violence offenders.
By accepting this grant, the City is required to a matching fund of twenty-five
percent.
2. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to execute the grant
award agreement with the Off,ce of Criminal Justice Planning for the One Hundred and
Thirty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($137,000) Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program
Grant.
