A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE
CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows:
The City Council desires to recognize the Santa Ana Police Department as
the lead agency for the Orange County DUI taskforce funded by a grant
from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
The two-year grant is a cooperative enforcement and education campaign,
which will involve sixteen (16) Orange County law enforcement agencies
including the California Highway Patrol.
Section 2. The City Attorney is directed to prepare and the Chief of Police is
authorized to execute a grant award agreement with the California Office of Traffic Safety
for $591,950.00.
Section 3. The City Attorney is directed to prepare and the Chief of Police is
authorized to execute additional written agreements with the participating agencies
defining operational guidelines and accounting provisions for the DUI Taskforce.
