A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR
GRANT FUNDING AND TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
WITH CITIZENS IN ACTION TO USE SAID GRANT FUNDS
TO PLAN A TECHNOLOGY LEARNING CENTER
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CiTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines
and declares as follows:
The Legislature and Governor of the State of California have approved a
grant for planning a technology learning center.
The State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the grant project and setting up
necessary procedures.
Said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and
Recreation require the Applicant to certify by resolution the approval of
application(s) before submission of said application(s) to the state.
Said application(s) contain assurances that the Applicant must comply
with, although there is no matching funds requirement from the City.
The Applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California to
provide a plan for a Technology Learning Center.
City of Santa Ana desires to enter into an agreement with Citizens in
Action to provide proceeds of said Grant to prepare plans for the
Technology Learning Center.
Section 2. City Council of the City of Santa Ana:
1. Approves the filing and submittal of an application for grant funding in the
amount of $49,250 for a Technology Learning Center; and
Certifies that sufficient funds exist to operate and maintain such project;
and

Approves the City of Santa Ana to enter into an agreement with Citizens in
Action to transfer funding procured from above grant to Citizens in Action
to prepare plans for the Technology Center; and
Appoints the City Manager, or his designee, as agent for the City of Santa
Aha to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents,
including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments and
payment requests which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned project.
