HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-026 - Amend Resolution No. 91-066Revised 3/19/01 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-026 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO 91-066 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLANS, AND TO AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO REALLOCATE ONE POSITION WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and WHEREAS, on July 1, 1991, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 91-066 re-establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for classes of employment designated as unrepresented Executive and Middle Management; and WHEREAS, on June 19, 2000, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. NS-2431, which establishes the City's Annual Budget authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 2000-2001, and which sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council; and WHEREAS, in order to increase the City's efficiency and effectiveness in providing development services to the community, the Deputy City Manager for Development Services proposes certain changes to the organizational structure of the Planning and Building Agency; and WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Council Resolution No 91-066 and the Fiscal Year 2000-2001 Annual Budget, in order to effect these changes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: That Section 3B of Resolution No. 91-066, as amended, is hereby further amended by: adding, in alphabetical sequence, the following classification title at the salary rate range/effective dates indicated: 15-Step Salary Rate Ranqe Effective: 4-1-01 Annual Salary 7-1-01 Class Title No. (Min-Max) No. Assistant Director of Planning and Building MM-28 $82,116-116,016 * Resolution No. 2001-026 Page 1 of 3 designating the newly created classification title of Assistant Director of Planning and Building as Middle Management by assigning the parenthetical identifier "(MM)" after this class title; decreasing the salary rate range assigned to the class title of Planning Manager (MM) on the effective dates shown below: 15-Step Salary Rate Ranqe Effective June 1,2001: FROM Annual Salary TO Class Title No. (Min-Max) No. Annual Salary .7-1-01 (Min-Max) No. Planning Manager MM-28 $82,116-116,016 MM-26 $78,156-110,424 (MM) *Note: Salary Rate Range on 7-1-01 to be determined per Section 2A of Resolution 91-066, as amended by Resolution 1999-042. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2000-2001, as amended, is hereby further amended by reallocating one position as shown below: 15-Step Salary Rate Ranqe Effective April 1,2001: FROM Class Title Building Safety Manager (MM) Salary Rate Range No. MM-26 Annual Salary (Min-Max) $78,156-110,424 TO Class Title Assistant Director of Planning and Building (MM) Salary Rate Range No. MM-28 Annual Salary (Min-Max) $82,116-116,016 That except as amended by this Resolution, all other provisions of Resolution Nos. 82-110, 91-066 and 96-095, and the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2000-2001, shall remain in full force and effect.
