A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SANTA ANA
AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A
GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
DEVELOPMENT (HUD)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines
and declares as follows:
Pursuant to the HUD Independent Appropriation Act 2001, Public Law
106-377, Special Projects Report 106198, the Santa Ana Police
Department has been awarded an independent grant in the amount of
$498,900.00 for a Case Management/Crime Analysis system.
This grant provides funds for the Crime Analysis Section of the Santa Ana
Police Department for the purchase of a Case Management/Crime
Analysis system. The system will provide the Police Department with
resources to identify "career criminals" and link them to multiple crimes
committed.
This grant award requires the Santa Ana Police Department commit to
spend the funds on a Case Management/Crime Analysis system.
The project complies with 28 Code of Federal Regulations 23, the criminal
intelligence system operation policy.
Section 2. The Chief of Police or his designee is hereby authorized and directed
to execute the grant award agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
Section 3. Appoints the Chief of Police, or his designee, as agent for the City of
Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but
not limited to applications, agreements, amendments and payment requests which may
be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned grant.
