A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA ADOPTING THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
BIKEWAYS STRATEGIC PLAN
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine and declare as follows:
The City of Santa Ana approved the City of Santa Ana Bikeway Master
Plan in 1998.
In order to be eligible for Bicycle Transportation Account funding, the City
of Santa Ana is required to adopt a bicycle transportation plan that meets
the requirements of the California Bicycle Transportation Act (California
Streets and Highways Code Section 890 through 894.2).
The City of Santa Ana Bikeway Master Plan does not meet the
requirements of the Califemia Bicycle Transportation Act.
The California Bicycle Transportation Act allows the City of Santa Ana to
adopt by reference a countywide plan.
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) adopted the OCTA
Commuter Bikeways Strategic Plan (CBSP) on August 27, 2001.
The CBSP meets the requirements of the California Bicycle Transportation
Act.
The CBSP requires minor modification to be consistent with the Santa Ana
Bikeway Master Plan.
Section 2. The City Council adopts the Orange County Transportation Authority
Commuter Bikeway Strategy Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated
herein, as modified by the addendum attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and incorporated
herein, as the City of Santa Ana Bikeways Strategic Plan.
