The vacation of the portion of an alley, 200 feet long, just south of Third Street and east of Main Street is a summary vacation pursuant to Street and Highway Code §8334 because the alley is an excess right-of-way of a street or highway not required for street or highway purposes. The 200 foot portion of the alley south of Third Street and east of Main Street to be vacated is not necessary for traffic circulation. Pursuant to the provisions of § 892 of the Streets and Highway Code of the State of California, the 200 foot portion of the alley south of Third Street and east of Main Street is not useful as a nonmotorized transportation facility, as defined in section 887 of said Code. The 200 foot portion of the alley south of Third Street and east of Main Street to be vacated contains no existing overhead or underground utilities. All affected utility companies have been contacted and do not object to the vacation. It is unnecessary to reserve and easement for public services purposes or for future street or alley purposes. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the summary vacation of the 200 foot portion of the alley south of Third Street and east of Main Street.
