HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-021 - Recreation Recovery Program Mabury ParkRESOLUTION NO. 2002-021 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE URBAN PARK AND RECREATION RECOVERY PROGRAM MABURY PARK SECURITY LIGHTS REHABILITATION PROJECT mjv:03/26/02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: "..~. - - Al Cohgress under Pqblic Law 95-625 authorized the establishment of the '-~ Urba~ Park and 'F~"re~a;tion Recovery Grant Program, providing matching funds to economically distressed urban communities for rehabilitation of critically needed recreation facilities. The National Park Service is responsible for administration of the program in, setting up necessary rules and procedures governing application by local agencies under the program. Said procedures established by the National Park Service require the City Council to certify by resolution the approval of the application and the availability of local matching funds prior to submission of said applications to the State. D. The City has been deemed eligible to apply for said funds. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby: Approves the filing of applications for Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Program assistance in the amount of $86,233.00 for the Mabury Park Security Lights Rehabilitation Project. Certifies that sufficient matching local funds exist through the General Fund or Proposition 40. Certifies that, upon award of the grant, The City of Santa Ana Parks Recreation and Community Services Agency is authorized to accept and administer the grant. Certifies that the project is compatible with the land use plan of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project. Resolution No. 2002-021 Page 1 of 3 Appoints the City Manager or the Executive Director of the Parks Recreation and Community Services Agency, or their designee, as agent for the City of Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned Project. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
