A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA SUPPORTING A SANTIAGO CREEK
WATERSHED PLAN
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines
and declares as follows:
The Cities of Santa Ana, Orange, Villa Park, the County of Orange and the
Orange County Water District are interested in determining specific
measures to improve the management of the Santiago Creek watershed,
including flood damage reduction, infrastructure protection, surface water
quality, riparian habitat restoration, and increasing local water supplies;
and
These local agencies are interested in pursuing assistance from State and
Federal agencies to support the study and implementation of the above
referenced management measures; and
The City of Santa Ana supports the objective of pursuing the restoration
and enhancement of the Santiago Creek Watershed through the
collaboration with other local, State and Federal agencies.
Section 2. The City Council supports the preparation of a Plan for the
Santiago Creek Watershed.
ADOPTED this 21st day of October, 2002.
