A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA TO AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL
BUDGET TO REALLOCATE TEN NON-SWORN
POSITIONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows:
On June 17, 2002, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No.
NS-2500, which establishes the City's Annual Budget, authorizing position
allocations for Fiscal Year 2002-2003, and which sets forth the
requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be
reviewed and approved by the City Council.
During a review of its organizational structure, the Police Department
identified ten non-sworn positions currently allocated to and being funded
from other vacant, budgeted positions in the department.

The Police Department proposes to clarify the budget record by
reallocating these positions to their appropriate job classifications and
eliminating a number of currently vacant non-sworn positions to fund the
proposed reallocation.
It is now desired to amend the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Annual Budget to
effect the reallocation of ten positions.
Section 2: That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2002-2003, as amended, be
further amended by reallocating the following positions as follows:

Section 3: That except as amended by this Resolution, all other provisions of the
Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2002-2003, as amended, shall remain in full force and
effect.
Section 4: That except as stated otherwise above, this Resolution shall be
operative from and after November 18, 2002.
