Corrections. We do not anticipate any change in funding as a result of
this transfer.

juvenile delinquency, through the cooperative efforts of the community and
law enforcement. The purpose of the McFadden Learning and Technology
Center is to make learning a fun, life long activity while helping
.students acquire skills that lead to success at school, work and home.
The Leadership Development Strategy was developed as a supplemental
service at the Center with the purpose of reducing the number of
suspensions and expulsions at targeted area schools by providing
educational programs, positive alternative activities and supportive
services that will encourage juveniles to remain in school, increase
school attendance, and involve parents in their children's educational
achievement.
The program will be conducted from January 1, 2004 through December 31,
2004 and will serve a total of 55 students and their families from
Spurgeon Intermediate and Lincoln, Monte Vista, and Jackson Elementary
Schools who exhibit known risk factors for future problem behavior. The
activities will include Teen Club activities, leadership development
opportunities, rewards and recognition for completion of program
components, peer and police officer mentoring, tutoring, educational
.excursions, Cultural Arts classes, family oriented recreation activities,
and Parent Education workshops.
