RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize payment to Crossroads Software for the purchase of computer
programming and software components for the Police Department Traffic
Division in an amount of $39,500.
fIIISCUSSION
In October 2002, the Police Department was awarded a $140,500 grant to
create a Hand-Held Citation, collision and DUI Report Writing Data
Management Project from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). The
hand-held computer programming and software components were created by
Crossroads Software and developed in two phases. With the completion of
the grant, the Traffic Division is conducting final compliance testing of
the software. Upon successful compliance testing of each phase the Police
Department will request that $20,000 be released. to Crossroads Software for
. Phase I, and $19,500 for Phase II upon full implementation and completion
of the project.
FISCAL IMPACT
Fund are available in the Office of Traffic Safety Grant Computer Report
Writing Other Contractual Services Account (account no. 165-339-6291.
