RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Sande Equipment Co., Inc. for the purchase of two
graffiti truck conversions in the amount of $12,356.77.
. DISCUSSION
The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program
is included in the City's annual budget, and identifies vehicles
scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation
schedule established with each department.
The Public Works Agency utilizes specially equipped trucks to perform
routine maintenance within the City of over 100 miles of primary
streets, 400 miles of residential streets and designated structures.
Two stencil paint trucks are budgeted for conversion to self-contained
graffiti removal trucks. The conversions will expand the street
maintenance program of graffiti control.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 26-27, 2004, and
bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids
received is as follows:

Bids were received and opened on February 17, 2004. The bid from Sande
Equipment Co. Inc. is responsive to the specifications and meets the
City's requirements.
