RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract with Adamson Industries for miscellaneous police
supplies in an annual amount not to exceed $15,000.
. DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Police Department utilizes a variety of supplies in the
daily performance of duties, including such items as fingerprinting
supplies during investigations and bookings, and handcuffs in
transporting and booking suspects. The contract is designed to provide
a quality product at significant savings based on quantity pricing.
On March 3, 2003, the City Council awarded a contract for a 12-month
period with options for two 12-month renewals. Adamson Industries has
agreed to the first renewal option to the contract; however, due to
manufacturers price increases has requested 10 percent price increases.
Adamson Industries has performed satisfactorily during the past
contract period and staff recommends renewal of the contract.
