Award a contract to Burch Ford for the purchase of one extended cab
truck in the amount of $22,101.
. DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Police Department's Office of Traffic Safety operates a
Traffic Offender Program that includes a "Driving Under the Influence"
(DUI) prevention operation. Grant money has been awarded for the
purchase of a fifth wheel trailer containing driver vehicle
assimilators directed toward high school students. The grant also
provides for an extended cab truck which will pull the trailer to local
schools and events for DUI prevention education.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 11-12, 2004, and
bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids
received is as follows:

Bids were received and opened on February 24, 2004 (Exhibit 1). The
bid from Burch Ford is responsive to the specifications and meets the
City's requirements.
