RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing fiscal year 2003-2004
Public Library Funds of $155,957 and appropriate the funds to expenditure
accounts to enhance library services.
DISCUSSION
.In 1982, the State of California legislature approved the Public Library
Fund Act to provide funding for library services in library jurisdictions
based solely on population serviced by each jurisdiction. The fiscal year
2003-2004 allocation for the City of Santa Ana Public Library is $155,957.
This funding will be used to purchase books and other library materials
for patron use.
FISCAL IMPACT
The appropriation adjustment will increase the Public Library Fund revenue
account (account no. 152-01-5360) and expenditure appropriation for books,
records, and videos (account no. 152-222-6651) by $155,957.
