RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Lake Chevrolet for the purchase of one extended cab
compact pickup truck in the amount not to exceed $17,375.38.
. DISCUSSION
The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program
is included in the City's annual budget, and identifies vehicles
scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation
schedule established with each department.
Various City agencies utilize compact pickup' trucks to perform routine
business. The Public Works Agency's Maintenance, Trees and Street
Painting Division uses pickup trucks with top work shells to carry the
graffiti cleanup supplies. The current replacement schedule includes
one S-10 pickup truck that was damaged beyond repair. As such, the
damaged truck has been budgeted and approved for replacement in the
current fiscal year.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 11-12, 2004, and
bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids
received is as follows:

. Bids were received and opened on March 3, 2 Ó 04 (Exhibit 1). The bid
from Lake Chevrolet is responsive to the specifications and meets the
City's requirements.
