Award contracts for plumbing services for a two-year period with
provision for two one-year renewals in the annual amounts as follows:

DISCUSSION
Plumbing services are required at times by all City departments for the
purposes of drain cleaning, leak repair, and general maintenance as
well as installations of water heaters, faucets, basins, and toilets.
Occasionally, a leak or breakage will require an immediate response to
maintain safety and prevent additional damage. The contract for
plumbing services will provide fixed pricing for both maintenance and
emergency services for all City departments up to a maximum of $1,000
per job. To avoid schedule conflicts and allow for rapid response
time, an option of two vendors is available.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on March 3 -4, 2004, and bids
were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is
as follows:

Bids were received and opened on March 17, 2004, and evaluated. The
bids received from Coast Plumbing, Heating & Air, Inc. and Orange Coast
Plumbing, Inc., both Santa Ana vendors, are responsive to the
specification.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the various departments Maintenance and Repair
of Buildings and Grounds account (account no. 6261).
