RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the
Clerk of the Council to execute an amended agreement with DuChesne &
Associates LLC, to include additional administrative services for the
,Police Department in an amount not to exceed $30,000.
8ISCUSSION
The Police Department entered into an agreement with DuChesne & Associates
to provide an administrative and operational review of the Investigations
Bureau, Gang Crimes Investigation Unit. During the course of this review,
several possible initiatives for improvement were identified. These
initiatives cross Bureau and Divisional lines creating an opportunity to
effectuate departmental improvements and addre'ss key issues related to
enhancing operational effectiveness. Staff recommends amending the current
agreement to include the additional services required to implement the
initiatives identified in the initial review.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Police Department's Chief's Contractual Services
Account (account no. 011-331-6291).
