Asked the Chief of Police to report on an recent event in Santa Ana in which a Hollywood crew staged stunts for a video which will be used to depict the dangers of driving while under the influence (DUI); the Chief noted that this video will be shown in the school districts and should be available for distribution in the summer. . Noted that there is a new photography exhibit at the Bowers Museum entitled "Bridges to Understanding" and announced that this exhibit will be at the Bowers until October 24, 2004 . Announced that Thursday May 6, 2004 is National Day of Prayer . Asked the City Council to adjourn in memory of J. Wesley Fletcher, father of the City Attorney, Joseph Fletcher . Announced that Tillamook Cheese Company is sponsoring a cleanup at Jerome Park on May 22, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. and invited residents to volunteer . Council member Solorio . Noted that there seems to be an increase in cruising on Bristol Street since Easter and asked the Police Chief to investigate this situation . Asked the City Manager to report on the timeline for the One Broadway Plaza project. The City Manager reported that the matter will be before the Planning Commission on May 10, 2004 and if approved will be before the City Council on May 17, 2004 Council member Bist . Congratulated Councilmember Alvarez on her nomination as a "Woman of Vision" by the We Give Thanks organization . Noted that the Floral Park home tour held in April was very successful and added that the Wilshire Square home tour will be held on June 26, 27,2004 . Asked the City Manager for a status on the location for the Court of Appeals; the City Manager responded that the City has not been notified to this date but that staff does check the status on a weekly basis; he further noted that there are four sites in Santa Ana under consideration. Noted that April was Earthquake preparedness month and reminded residents of the importance of keeping necessary supplies available and also exchanging phone numbers with neighbors . Noted that two Santa Ana officers recently tried out for a women's professional football team . Congratulated the Santa Ana Unified School District for it's successful WorkAbility/Transition Partnership program which promotes independent living and provides comprehensive pre-employment, employment, work- site training and follow-up services for youth in Special Education who are making the transition from school to work; he encouraged employers to give these students a chance . Asked the City Manager to follow up with the City of Anaheim which is in the process of renegotiating its franchise with Edison and determine if there is any opportunity for Santa Ana to underground Mayor Pulido .
