HomeMy WebLinkAbout25H - RIGHT OF WAY APPRAISAL REQUEST FOR .OUNCIL ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: ~ ~ CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: JUNE 7, 2004 TITLE: ~ !1~ CITY MANAGER APPROVED D As Recommended D As Amended D Ordinance on 1" Reading D Ordinance on 2"' Reading D Implementing Resolution D Set Public Hearing For AGREEMENT WITH LIDGARD AND ASSOCIATES FOR RIGHT-OF-WAY APPRAISAL SERVICES CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER / RECOMMENDED ACTION Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute a consulting agreement for right-of- way appraisal services with Lidgard and Associates for an amount not to exceed $50,000. 8ISCUSSION The Public Works Agency manages roadway widening projects which require right-of -way appraisal services. These appraisal services include determining the fair market value for the acquisition of properties needed to accommodate the street widenings. Lidgard and Associates has prepared acquisition appraisal reports for the City for a number of projects in the past. The firm's services are required to update these appraisal reports at the time of condemnation and to prepare for trial during eminent domain proceedings. Staff is requesting authorization of an agreement for an amount not to exceed $50,000 for the necessary services.
