OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
June 29, 1970
A Special Meeting of the City Council was convened at 7:15 P.M., in
the Mayor's office at City Hall, 217 North Main Street, proper notice
and posting having been accomplished, with evidence on file in the
office of the Clerk of the Council. The following Councilmen were
present: Wade Herrin, J. Ogden Markel, Jerry M. Patterson,
Harry K. Yamamoto and Mayor Lorin Griset. Councilmen Vernon
S. Evans and Ray Villa were absent, but Councilman Villa arrived at
7:25 P.M. Also present were Assistant City Manager Bruce Spragg,
Clerk of the Council Florence Malone and a representative of the Press.
1970-1971 BUDGET The proposed Annual Budget for
the fiscal year 1970-1971 was
considered by Council on a page-
by-page basis. The Assistant City Manager reviewed the recommended
capital expenditures, listed in order of priority~ which have not been
funded. The method of Federal Government participation in approved
proposed park development was described as a reimbursement type program;
that is, 50 percent of the money actually invested by the City toward
such development would be reimbursed by Federal grant.
Councilman Villa expressed his concern for completion of Delhi Park
as soon as possible.
Councilman Patterson asked for additional information regarding utility
and sewer taxes that might be levied to fund the Capital Improvement
Program.
Councilman Yarnamoto suggested there might be some items in_the
proposed budget that could be deleted in favor of some of the unfunded
improve me nts.
The Council examined and discussed pages 1 through 49 of the proposed
budget.
ADJOURNMENT
At 10:05 P.M., the meeting was
adjourned.
