RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Antech Diagnostics to
provide veterinary laboratory diagnostic services for the Santa Ana Zoo at
Prentice Park for a one-year period in an amount not to exceed $20,000.
DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park is required by the United States
Department of Agriculture to provide veterinary services for the
collection of animals maintained. Antech Diagnostics will serve as the
primary diagnostic laboratory and provide a comprehensive program of
diagnostic services for the entire animal collection. Wi th the addition
of 60 new animals to the Crean Family Farm, an increase in services is
expected to cover the wellness program and diagnosis of clinical cases.
