RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the
Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with Abel
Armas Arbitration/Mediation Services to include administrative citation
hearing services for the Police Department's Animal Services Division in
an amount not to exceed $10,000.
DISCUSSION
In July 2004, the City Council approved an agreement with Abel Armas
Arbitration/Mediation Services to provide professional administrative
hearings for the City's Planning Department Code Enforcement. The Police
Department recommends utilizing Abel Armas Arbitration/Mediation Services
to administer its Animal Service Division's administrative citation
hearings.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Police Department's Animal Services Contractual
Services account (account no. 11-339-6291).
