RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the
Clerk of the Council to execute a twelve-month lease with two one-year
options to renew for office space with the Mexican American Opportunity
Foundation.
DISCUSSION
For the past four years, the City of Santa Ana through the Santa Ana
W/O/R/K Center has leased office space from the Mexican American
Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) for the operation of a satellite office.
This office provides job employment services such as computer usage,
internet access for job search, job search workshops, resume preparation
assistance and referrals to community service, training, and education
resources for Empowerment Zone Residents. By continuing the lease of this
space from MAOF, the Santa Ana W/O/R/K Center will be able to maintain
these necessary resources for community residents.
The office space, located at 502 S. Ross, Santa Ana, is 324 square feet
wi th a monthly lease rate of $1 per square foot for an amount not to
exceed $4,000 during the twelve-month term of the lease.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for this contract will be available in the Empowerment Zone Service
Navigator SAWC account (account no. 129-035-6294).
