RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $116,070 in the Orange
County Transportation Authority Senior Mobility Program revenue account
(account no. 169-01-5374) and appropriate funds to the Senior Mobility
Program expenditure account (account no. 169-255-various).
DISCUSSION
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCT A) developed the Senior
Mobility Program for the purpose of improving transportation services for
seniors in the region. The City is in the fourth year of a five-year
agreement with OCTA for providing transportation services to Santa Ana
seniors to and from our two senior centers and various City events.
For FY 2004-2005, the City of Santa Ana will receive $116,070 to continue
the operation of three vehicles used for local senior transportation
services. As part of the agreement the City of Santa Ana will commit to a
20 percent local match, which may consist of in-kind staff resources or
other contractual transportation services. Funds for the match are included
in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency FY 2004-05 budget.
Initial enrollment in the Senior Mobility Program is for a period of up to
five years, which began in 2002, with the option to extend the agreement
for an additional five-year term.
