RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Mattie White to serve as
a Tiny Tots Program instructor at Jerome Recreation Center in an amount not
to exceed $15,050.
DISCUSSION
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency has offered Tiny Tots
preschool classes at Jerome Recreation Center since January 2000. The
Tiny Tots instructor provides preschool classes with a curriculum focused
on kinder preparation. The program curriculum includes instruction in
learning the alphabet, learning to trace numbers and letters, basic
reading skills, and arts and crafts. This program is operated as a leisure
class and generates revenue to the City equal to 30 percent of the program
income. This agreement will continue the services provided by the Tiny
Tots instructor through June 30,2005.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Recreation Division contractual services
account (acct. no. 11-275-6291).
