RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
Clerk of the Council to execute a cooperative agreement with the Orange
County Transportation Authority for the State Route 22 Widening project.
DISCUSSION
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) in cooperation and
partnership with Caltrans is proposing to implement capacity and
operational improvements to State Route 22 between State Route 55 (SR-55)
and Interstate 405. The project improvements include widening the
freeway to provide high occupancy vehicle lanes in each direction between
SR-55 and Valley View Avenue, various interchange improvements,
additional sound walls, and replacement planting.
The cooperative agreement identifies roles and responsibilities during
the design and construction of the project. The agreement ,also specifies
that OCTA will reimburse the City for costs of providing Traffic
Engineering and Police services required to address traffic impacts
during the construction for a total amount not to exceed $150,000.
