NO. 01-109) J( ~~72~--- CITY MANAGER CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Renew the contracts for traffic signs and related hardware for a one- year period in the annual amounts as follows: Bidder: Categories: Amount: Zumar Industries, Inc Traffic Signs and Hardware $98,011 Traffic Control Services, Inc. Traffic Signs - Miscellaneous Items $36,184 Western Highway Products, Inc. Traffic Sign Decals $27,352 DISCUSSION In order to perform maintenance, installation, and replacement of the City's traffic signs, the Public Works Agency requires an assortment of materials such as decals, signposts, and fasteners. The materials are purchased through the Central Stores warehouse for distribution to the Public Works Agency. On October 15, 2001, the City Council awarded contracts for traffic signs and related hardware to Zumar Industries, Inc., Traffic Control Services, Inc. and Western Highway Products, Inc. for a two-year period with provision for two one-year renewals. The vendors have performed satisfactorily during the past contract period, and staff recommends the final renewal of the contract. 22A-1 cs. 383 Contract Renewal for Traffic Signs and Related Hardware (Spec.
