HomeMy WebLinkAbout25B - COPIER/MICROGRAPHIC PRINT REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION ~ ~ CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: OCTOBER 4, 2004 TITLE: APPROVED o As Recommended o As Amended o Ordinance on 1st Reading o Ordinance on 2nd Reading o Implementing Resolution o Set Public Hearing For AGREEMENT FOR COPIER AND MICROGRAPHIC PRINTER SERVICE AT MCFADDEN LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER ~ , ,.../ 'fIo'''''' "/1 i I I :'___ // ~tY2~ ~y MiNAGER CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Card Meter Systems, Inc. to provide copier and micrographic printer service at McFadden Learning and Technology Center for a one-year period, with a provision for two one-year extensions, in an annual amount not to exceed $3,700 per year. DISCUSSION Card Meter Systems (CMS) provides a convenient way for patrons to use computer printers and copiers utilizing debit card technology. Staff recommends implementing this system at the McFadden Learning and Technology Center to facilitate public access to photocopy and printing services. The equipment will be provided and maintained by CMS through this agreement. The City will pay a subsidy to CMS for any month that minimum sales do not exceed $301 per month. In addition, the City is eligible to receive 20 percent of sales in excess of the $301 per month minimum, up to $10,000 annually. The City has the option of terminating the agreement with a 30- day written notice. FISCAL IMPACT Funds are available in the Recreation contractual services account (account no. 11-275-6291).
