RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Card Meter Systems, Inc.
to provide copier and micrographic printer service at McFadden Learning and
Technology Center for a one-year period, with a provision for two one-year
extensions, in an annual amount not to exceed $3,700 per year.
DISCUSSION
Card Meter Systems (CMS) provides a convenient way for patrons to use
computer printers and copiers utilizing debit card technology. Staff
recommends implementing this system at the McFadden Learning and Technology
Center to facilitate public access to photocopy and printing services. The
equipment will be provided and maintained by CMS through this agreement.
The City will pay a subsidy to CMS for any month that minimum sales do not
exceed $301 per month. In addition, the City is eligible to receive 20
percent of sales in excess of the $301 per month minimum, up to $10,000
annually. The City has the option of terminating the agreement with a 30-
day written notice.
