Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and
the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Geomatrix
Consultants, Inc. for National Pollution Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES) Commercial/Industrial inspection services not to exceed in an
amount of $400,000.
DISCUSSION
The Public Works Agency is responsible for the implementation of the
City's NPDES stormwater permit. In accordance with the City's permit
requirements, all high priority industrial sites need to be inspected
annually, medium priority industrial sites inspected semi-annually, and
low priority commercial sites inspected once every three years.
Requests for Proposals were sent to five firms.

Geomatrix Consultants Inc. was selected as the top rated firm. Their
proposal was excellent in all respects, and they have extensive
experience providing commercial/industrial inspection services.
Geomatrix staff dedicated to this project has the experience and
education necessary to carry out the requirements as set forth in the
City's NPDES permit.
Staff recommends that Geomatrix Consultants, Inc. be retained for this
proj ect. They are a well-qualified and reputable firm with experience
with similar type contracts.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
There is no environmental impact associated with this action.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Federal Clean Water Enterprise (account no.
57-635-6291) .
