RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract with The Paper Depot for paper shredding services
for a period of one year in an annual amount not to exceed $15,000.
DISCUSSION
The Police Department and various City agencies utilize a paper
shredding service for the purpose of purging documents in accordance
with the City's Record Retention Schedule. The documents are contained
in secured latch bins provided by the vendor. The vendor service
provides on-site collections monthly, bi-monthly, and on an as-needed
basis.
On September 3, 2002, the City Council awarded a contract for a period
of one year with options for two one-year renewals. The Paper Depot
has agreed to the second renewal of the contract and has not requested
price increases. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the
past contract period. Staff recommends authorizing the renewal to the
contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the various departments' Operating Materials and
Supplies account (object code 6391)
