RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Graffiti Protective Coatings, Inc. for weekend and
holiday graffiti removal for a one-year period, with provision for four
one-year renewals, in an annual amount not to exceed $100,000.
DISCUSSION
The Public Works Agency's Maintenance Division is responsible for
weekday graffiti removal. Contract services will include the removal
of graffiti on weekends and holidays, based on requests received from
City staff and from residents through the City's graffiti hot-line
telephone number.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on October 15 and 18, 2004, and
bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids
received is as follows:
