HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-084 - Grant Award Agreement with the California Office Traffic Safety . . . 11/10/04 LES RESOLUTION NO. 2004-084 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOllOWS: Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: A. The Santa Ana Police Department has been selected to receive a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $53,484.00 for the Sobriety Checkpoint Program for local law Enforcement Agencies. B. This grant funding will allow the Police Department's Traffic Division to conduct sobriety checkpoints during a thirteen month period, with the ultimate goal of reducing the number of victims injured or killed in alcohol related crashes. Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager and the Chief of Police to execute a grant award agreement with the California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $53,484.00. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
