RESOLUTION NO. 75-3
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA SELECTING NATIONAL HOUSING CONSULTANTS
AS DEVELOPERS FOR 200 NEW HOUSING UNITS
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana,
California, (hereinafter called the "Authority") with the
approval of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop-
ment, requested proposals from developers interested in
building, operating, and managing 200 units of new construction
specifically designed for the elderly, as well as entering into
a contract with the Authority concerning the making of housing
assistance payments on behalf of eligible low-income elderly
families leasing said units; and
WHEREAS, the Authority received eight such proposals on
December 30, 1974, so that it could make an evaluation and
preliminary selection of the most acceptable proposal based
upon the specifications set forth in the proposal and the
guidelines issued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development; and
WHEREAS, the Authority, on January 21, 1975, made a pre-
liminary selection of the proposal of National Housing Con-
sultants and submitted this proposal to the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development for its review and approval; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop-
ment has reviewed and approved the proposal of National Housing
Consultants, and sent official notice of such review and approval to
the Authority on April 15, 1975; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said official approval from the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Authority
wishes to officially select National Housing Consultants as the
developer for a 200 unit senior citizens housing project to be
located at 404-430 West First Street, Santa Ana, California to
be the subject of a contract by the Authority for the making of
Housing Assistance Payments on behalf of low-income elderly
families leasing these 200 units.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITY, as follows:
1. The Authority hereby selects the proposal of National
Housing Consultants to build, operate, and develop 200 new
housing units specifically designed for the elderly of which 200
units are to be the subject of a contract by this Authority
for the making of Housing Assistance Payments on behalf of the
eligible low-income elderly families leasing such units.
2. The chairman of the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana is hereby authorized and directed to make formal
notification of such selection and submit any other necessary
documentation pertaining to such selection to the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development.
