RESOLUTION NO. 97-02
RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING
THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR ADDITIONAL HOUSING CERTIFICATES UNDER
THE SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IN CONNECTION WITH FAMILY
UNIFICATION AND ACCEPTING AN ALLOCATION OF HOUSING CERTIFICATES
FROM SAID APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana ("PHA") is
authorized to administer the "Housing Assistance Program for the Section
8 Existing Program for the united States Department of Housing and Urban
Development ("HUD")¡ and
WHEREAS, HUD notified the PHA that section 8 Housing certificates in
connection with the Family Unification Program are available which would
increase the number of persons of low- and moderate-income who may be
assisted in their housing within the city of Santa Ana¡ and
WHEREAS, the additional section 8 Housing certificates are
consistent with our Consolidated Plan;
. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Housing Authority of the City
of Santa Ana as follows:
1. The submission of an application to the United States
Department of Housing and Urban Development for ten additional section 8
certificates in connection with the Family Unification Program is hereby
approved.
2. The Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana is hereby authorized and directed to:
a. Take all necessary steps to file said application and to provide
such information as may be required; and
b. Accept an allocation of additional housing certificates from
application and execute all necessary documents as may be
required.
3. The Secretary is hereby authorized to impress the official
of the PHA on such documents evidencing the approval and authorizing
execution thereof as may be required by the Government.
